Katharina received a wide-ranging architectural education at the Technical University of Berlin and at the Pontifica Católica de Santiago de Chile. Since 2016, she has worked in various architectural practices, including Berlin and Graz.

Her design approach is human-centered with a focus on circular design, urban redensification and natural building materials. With this approach, she has already successfully participated in several international design competitions. Designing with wood is of particular concern to her, as it is one of the few building materials that can directly store CO² and thus contributes to climate neutrality. She is fascinated by the emerging innovations in this field, which make it possible to combine elements with each other and thus break new ground in modular construction. However, she is also enthusiastic about wood when working on a smaller scale. During her time in Chile, she designed and produced a chair made of plywood, which has a positive effect on posture due to its functional design (Posturador).

Katharina currently works as a freelance architect, develops the product construction kit of the Berlin start-up ecoworks and supports students as an interior design lecturer at the Institut für Innenarchitektur Dresden.
